A Scene of Sugar Cane Processing from Belle Glade, Florida

A sugar cane farm’s transportation operation includes a truck that carries the cane from the field to the refinery. In the background of this video you will see the smoke from the factory, which is powered by the burning of “bagasse,” which is the leftover material of the plant after the sugar has been extracted. You will also see the smoke from the burning of a sugarcane field, where leaf matter is burned away from the stalk of the cane so that more of them can be fit into the bed of the transportation truck.
